The Dolomites are a paradise for runners of all disciplines. Challenging forest and meadow paths offer you the ideal conditions for trail running. Nordic walking is also very popular here: in and around Val Gardena there are several very well-signposted Nordic walking trails of varying length and difficulty. Alpe di Siusi Running Park

The Alpe di Siusi Running Park, with its 27 running routes totalling more than 240 kilometres and an altitude of between 1,800 and 2,300 metres, offers you the ideal conditions for endurance training that will reward you with an increase in performance and magnificent views. Running and jogging in Val Gardena

Val Gardena is the ideal environment for running and jogging. Discover running routes of different lengths and with different requirements in terms of terrain and altitude differences. Whether it's the Legend Trail, the UNESCO World Heritage Circuit, a run over the Rasciesa High Alp or the Dolomites Saslong Half Marathon – variety, challenges and picturesque views are guaranteed here.

High-ropes course

The Adventure Park Col de Flam in Ortisei is the first and only high ropes course in Val Gardena! For big and small adventurers there are five different routes here, on which you get to know the forest from a completely new perspective and fly through the treetops with varied ropeways. The 680-metre-long Fly Line is an absolute highlight! Trampolines and a petting zoo round off the attractions at the Col de Flam park. Close to the Seceda valley station, this is the ideal place to spend unforgettable hours with your family.

There are several ways in which you can soar into the clear mountain air and admire Val Gardena from above.

Paragliding

Val Gardena offers the ideal thermal conditions for a paragliding flight in a class of its own. Here you will climb gently into the air with an experienced guide and be rewarded with a view that will trigger unexpected feelings of happiness in you. Mountain peaks, lush green meadows, forests and the Val Gardena valley lie peacefully in front of you and reveal all their beauty from above. You don't need any flying experience for a tandem flight. Since it is a particularly intuitive and simple way of flying and you have a guide by your side, you can enjoy the butterflies in your stomach before take-off and then completely relax as you fly through the mountain air. Monte Pana zip line

Similar to a high ropes course, you will be well secured on a zip line in a steel harness and ride at a breathtaking speed at dizzying heights towards the valley. At the Mont de Seura mountain station, a zip line awaits you, offering an unforgettable experience for young and old alike. The Monte Pana zip line leads over a distance of 1.5 kilometres and at a height of up to 100 metres over treetops down into the valley. During your ride, you will reach a speed of almost 100 km/h.

Would you like a little variety? In Val Gardena, you can enjoy the even if you're interested in something other than running, cycling or climbing. Whether on horseback, geocaching with the whole family or swimming in the indoor pool – you can get active in your own way here.

Horseback riding

The Dolomites are the ideal backdrop for horseback rides. In Val Gardena, there are three good spots to attend a riding course or to rent a horse for an extensive tour in the equestrian paradise of the Dolomites: Pony Land Monte Pana in S. Cristina, Maneggio Ortisei and the Pozzamanigoni FISE Horse-riding School.

Slackline Park in Selva

Anyone can learn to balance on a slackline! Prove how well your sense of balance is and head to the Nives Square in Selva di Val Gardena, where the first official slackline park in South Tyrol welcomes fans of the trendy sport! Everyone in the family has fun at Slackline Park. Choose your favourite option from the 13 possible slackline stations or simply try them all out – from the beginner station to the rodeo line!

Note: Only lowlining is offered in the park. Slacklines are provided for participants of beginners' courses. All other visitors must bring their own slacklines.

Geocaching in Val Gardena

Geocaching is a modern version of the classic treasure hunt and a game that will persuade even teenagers to explore nature in the Dolomites. After registering at www.geocaching.com, you will receive all the important information you need to find the eagerly awaited treasure with the help of a GPS device or your smartphone.

Indoor activities

Whether on a rainy day or just because you need a little break after several overwhelming days in the mountains – in Val Gardena numerous indoor activities will inspire you and your family. From indoor swimming pools and climbing gyms to fitness studios and indoor tennis courts, you will find the perfect location for an active day on holiday.

Ice skating

In the Pranives ice rink in Selva, you can not only cheer on the local ice hockey team during their exciting games but you can also get active yourself and do laps on the ice. The current opening hours can be found on the ice rink page and skates can be rented on-site for a fee.

Climbing gyms

Climbing is not only fun on the mountain, but also indoors. In Selva, the Nives climbing hall offers 25 climbing lines; in the Roncadizza tennis centre in Ortisei, there is also a bouldering hall.

In the Tennis Centre Ortisei and the tennis hall in Selva, you can reserve a court at the time of your choice.
