Preghiera... Concert for Poetry and Accordion

The lyrical and musical recital Preghiera… (“Prayer”) is a concert for poetry and accordion. A dialogue between the arts, in which the words – flowing through the verses of poet Lino Pasquale Cacciapaglia – meet well-known compositions for accordion, performed by Maestro Matteo Facchin.

Art, in its purest and deepest essence, expressed through poetry and music, is not merely a means of remembrance; it is a shared experience, a communion between the artist and the listener. The artists’ aim is to invite the audience to experience the sensitivity of the souls of those who created the music and the poetry.

Art means conveying beauty into the soul of another, creating a journey shaped by wonder, longing and awe.

Guided by the poetic word and by music, we will embark on a journey that invites us to recognise others, our fellow human beings, without distinction. For art thrives on connections, dialogue and the fundamental shared belief that creativity can illuminate the human soul.

Lino Pasquale Cacciapaglia was born on 19 July 1964 in Cellamare (Bari). He is a poet, lecturer in business administration and chartered accountant, and lives in Merano (BZ). He has published the poetry collections Esisti Sole! and Azzurra! with the “Weger” publishing house in Bressanone (BZ). In March 2026, his third poetry collection, Preghiera…, was published by Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori. For Cacciapaglia, poetry is not merely a literary work, but also a form of testimony: since his first publication, he has been a guest at cultural institutions, schools, bookshops, libraries and theatres, where he writes and performs poetry recitals, including on contemporary and socially relevant topics. His poetry is inspired by nature and the great themes of human existence, as well as by a positive worldview rooted in Christian values. His work is spiritually inspired by the English Romantic poet John Keats, whom Cacciapaglia considers his poetic guiding light.

Matteo Facchin completed his accordion studies under Corrado Rojac and also studied harpsichord and composition. Alongside his classical training, he is active in pop and rock music, as well as ethnic music and tango. His collaborations include the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento and the author Joseph Zoderer. As a performer and composer, he is involved in various theatre productions. He has made numerous recordings in both popular and classical music. His current project is the Dangerous Encounters Trio, featuring modern arrangements ranging from Piazzolla to Vivaldi. Since 1996, he has taught accordion at the “Vivaldi” Music School in Bolzano.
