The Sellaronda Bike Day is the ideal event for families with children. For this special occasion, the passes around the Sella will be closed to motor traffic. This means that you are safe with your loved ones and you can set the pace of your cycling tour yourself. During this time it is up to you whether you cycle around the entire Sella Group or tackle just a single mountain pass. You'll have great fun mastering the Sellaronda together with cyclists of all generations and sporting levels, enjoying magnificent views and taking extensive breaks along the route.

Bike Day: Route

Participants in the Sellaronda Bike Day are advised to ride the Sellaronda in a counter-clockwise direction. It's possible to depart from all the Dolomite valleys around the Sella Group: Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba and Val di Fassa. Start from:

  • Selva to the Passo Gardena or the Passo Sella,
  • Corvara to Passo Gardena or the Campolongo Pass,
  • Arraba to Passo Pordoi, or
  • Canazei to Passo Sella or Passo Pordoi

The Sellaronda by bike takes you over a total length of 53 kilometres across four passes: the Passo Sella, the Passo Pordoi, the Passo Campolongo and the Passo Gardena. When you start in Selva, you will climb a total of 1,936 metres in altitude.

Even though the Sellaronda Bike Day promises an exuberant atmosphere, all participants must adhere to the applicable traffic rules. Pay attention to your safety and that of the other participants and be considerate of nature.

Tips for Bike Day

  • The roads will be closed to traffic for Bike Day between 8:30 and 16:00 (at the June edition 2024 from 8.00 a.m. until 2.30 p.m.).
  • Ride the Sellaronda counter-clockwise and always stay on the right side of the road.
  • You can enter the Sellaronda from Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba and Val di Fassa.
  • Official service points: Passo Pordoi, Arabba, Pordoi Crossroads, Miramonti Crossroads and Corvara.
  • The technical service is organised in cooperation with "Vittoria" and "Dolomites Adventures".
  • In many villages along the route you can get refreshments in a restaurant or café.
  • Families in particular love to have a picnic in the meadows along the cycle route.
  • All cyclists must obey the traffic rules and wear a helmet.
  • It is important to be considerate of other participants throughout the event.
