Val Gardena Folklore Festival

Each year on the first Sunday in August, a special event takes place: the Val Gardena Folklore Festival. On this day, the locals dress up in the valley’s traditional garment. Walking through the towns during the festival will make you think you have gone back in time.

While the “Tracht” (traditional garb) is prevalent throughout German-speaking countries, appearance varies widely by location, and Val Gardena’s version is unique.
