Next Race: 8th June 2024

The Saslong Half Marathon is the ultimate running challenge in Val Gardena. Making its way all the way around the Sassolungo mountain group, it’s arguably one of the most spectacular long-distance races in the world. Start and finish are located on Monte Pana in Santa Cristina, and the race track will take you all around the Sassolungo – Val Gardena’s most iconic mountain - on a series of mountain trails.

Just because you’ve completed a half marathon before doesn’t mean you can repeat the feat in Val Gardena! The race altitude is set at 1,600-2,300 meters (5,200-7,500 ft.) above sea level, and the race features an elevation gain of over 900 meters (3,000 ft.). In addition, the track consists entirely of dirt roads and hiking trails. All these things add a serious challenge to the 21km (13 miles) usually run in a half marathon. One thing is assured - completing a long-distance race in the heart of the Dolomites will be one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do.
