Indoor- Sports Activities

Were you looking forward to a day of outdoors sports and activity, but the weather won't cooperate? Thankfully, Val Gardena offers a wide range of indoor sports activities to take advantage of during your vacation. Here, the weather doesn't matter.

Swimming & Sauna

No matter how the weather is, the Mar Dolomit public swimming pool in Ortisei offers action or relaxation to all guests thanks to a total of 7 swimming pools and an additional 11 saunas.
For children, there are also plenty of opportunities for fun: 2 children's pools, an adventure slide and an outdoor pool with water bubbles, which is also accessible in winter, offer a variety of activities while splashing around.
When it comes to tickets, you can choose between an access card for saunas and swimming pools or for swimming pools only.

Tip: The Restaurant Pizzeria Mar Dolomit is also accessible through the swimming pool and offers delicious meals and snacks. For lunch or dinner, we recommend the "Spaghetti with Buffalo Mozzarella and Cocktail Tomatoes" - a tribute to Italian cuisine.

Climbing & Bouldering

If you didn't already know, mountains aren't the only thing you can climb. In fact, Climbing Nives in Selva invites both young and old to experience the thrill and have fun. On a climbing area of 320 m² and 12 m height, the hall offers about 25 climbing lines. The climbing hall can also be visited in the evening. Through a large glass facade, you can watch the hustle and bustle of the pedestrian zone from a climbing wall.

Bouldering is also possible near Ortisei in Roncadizza and in Santa Cristina. In the basement of the Tennis Club Ortisei, the bouldering hall of about 220 m² and 4 m in height awaits visitors who love climbing.

Ice Skating

During the colder seasons, you can have fun outdoors at the Setil ice rink in Ortisei and at the Iman Center in S. Cristina.

If the weather doesn't cooperate, the ice rink in Selva is the the place to be, even in summer. The ice rink Pranives is open for a whole 10 months each year, from the beginning of July to the end of April, for more than just hockey players. Whether it's your first time on the ice or you're a real pro, skating is fun for everyone.

Tip: On certain evenings there are also HC Gherdëina hockey games scheduled. For more information, check out our Insider-Tip "Ice Hockey in Val Gardena".
