Discover Val Gardena

There is so much to discover in Val Gardena that it is difficult to tick off all the items on your to-do list in a single trip! But don't worry - since you can reach most of the destinations on foot, you can leave your car in the car park of your accommodation for most of your holiday in Val Gardena.

If your accommodation is affiliated with the local tourist association - and most accommodations in Val Gardena are - you will receive a free "Val Gardena Mobil Card" for the duration of your stay! With this card, you can travel free of charge on all public buses that run between the villages of Selva, Ortisei and Santa Cristina. This way you can travel fast, easily and ecologically during your holidays!

If you plan to use the Val Gardena cable cars regularly, you should consider buying the "Gardena Card", which allows you to use all the cable cars that are open during your stay. The "Dolomiti Supersummer Card" is even valid on more than 100 lifts in the greater Val Gardena area. With these cards, you can save a lot of money on excursions with your family!

Buses: Val Gardena Mobil Card

The Val Gardena Mobil Card is already included in the price of most accommodations and it offers you unlimited mobility on holiday for seven days. If you want to leave your car behind and explore Val Gardena in an environmentally friendly way, the Mobil Card is a perfect choice. It allows you to use all public transport in the South Tyrolean transport network. Even the historic Ritten Railway is included in the price. If you are not staying at a member establishment, you can buy the Val Gardena Mobil Card at the local tourist offices and choose between 1, 3 and 7 days.

Summer 2024 prices

  • Free of charge when staying in member establishments of the tourist association, otherwise:
  • 1 day: 20 € adults, 10 € children (6-13 years)
  • 3 days: 30 € adults, 15 € children (6-13 years)
  • 7 days: 45 € adults, 22,50 € children (6-13 years)

Lifts: Gardena Card

Enjoy the summer in the Dolomites and head for the mountains with the Gardena Card. The Gardena Card is a mobility card that can be purchased from the beginning of June to October at the valley stations of the following lifts in Val Gardena:

  • Sella Pass: Sassolungo cirque
  • Plan de Gralba: Piz Seteur
  • Selva: Ciampinoi and Dantercepies
  • Santa Cristina: Col Raiser, Monte Pana and Mont Seura
  • Ortisei: Rasciesa, Seceda and Alpe di Siusi

Summer 2024 prices

  • 109 € for 3 consecutive days
  • 141 € for 6 consecutive days

Kids

  • For children under 8 years, the card costs only 5 €
  • Juniors from 8 to 16 years (born after 01.01.2008): Gardena Card Junior at the price of 99,00 € (6 days) or 76,00 € (3 days)

With the Gardena Card, you can make unlimited use of 17 lifts in Val Gardena that are open during the summer season. As a special bonus, the card allows you to take your mountain bike with you on several lifts for only €5. Dogs can even be taken along free of charge with the card.

Dolomites: Supersummer Card

The Dolomiti Superski ski area is world-famous for its size and its magically beautiful slopes. In summer, the area also offers you unique nature experiences in the Dolomites. Whether you want to discover the forests, meadows or peaks while hiking or plan fast downhill runs and long tours by mountain bike - with the Dolomiti Supersummer Card you have a paradise at your feet that is waiting to be explored. The pass allows you to use around 100 mountain railways in the Dolomites. The card is highly recommended for cyclists, as bike transport is included in the price.

Summer 2024 prices

The Dolomiti Supersummer Card is available from the beginning of May to the beginning of November in the following variations:

  • Daycard at the price of 62 €
  • Multi-day card, 3 out of 4 days at the price of 135 €
  • Multi-day card, 5 out of 7 days at the price of 175 €
  • Season card at the price of 400 €

Juniors between the ages of 8 and 16 receive the card at a reduced price and it is free for children under the age of 8. The Dolomiti Supersummer Card is available online in the My Dolomiti Superski Shop.

Taxis in Val Gardena

Let local taxi drivers take you to your destination during your holiday and enjoy the comfort of a modern cab. The taxi drivers in Val Gardena know the shortest way to all the excursion destinations in the region and can also share one or two insider tips with you on request. During the season it is advisable to book a taxi in advance by phone. For larger families and groups or travellers with a lot of luggage, minibuses are also available.

Val Gardena Night Bus

With the night bus you get safely back to your accommodation even at a later hour. The service is available on Saturday evening, for a few months also on Friday evening. For the night bus you need a special ticket which is available directly on the buses (Val Gardena Mobil Card is not valid for the night bus).

Explore the Dolomites and South Tyrol

A summer holiday in Val Gardena is ideal for long hikes and extended tours, such as the very popular Dolomite high trails. When planning your hike, you will probably ask yourself how you can get from your destination back to the starting point or to your accommodation without a car. Dolomitibus offers you numerous bus connections with which you can reach many different excursion destinations in the Dolomites and beyond. Even if there is no direct connection available, there are usually connections with transfers that will get you to your destination quickly, safely and in an environmentally friendly way. Some bus connections even cross national borders.
