The hike from Col Raiser to the Pieralongia mountain pasture is about six kilometres long and takes about 3 hours. At the end of the hike, a 60-metre high menhir awaits hikers of all ages next to the mountain hut, the sight of which will surely take your breath away. There are lots of animals on the mountain pasture, a swing where children can let the fresh mountain air blow through their hair, as well as large meadows where they can play.

Start at the Col Raiser cable car in S. Cristina. Just behind the mountain station, the hiking trail begins, which takes families via the Mastlé pasture and the Puez-Odle Nature Park on a wide path to the Fermeda Hut before climbing steeply up to the Pieralongia mountain pasture. The hut is a good place to have lunch. Because it is so beautiful here, you should expect some crowds and waiting time, especially at lunchtime in the season.

For the approximately five kilometre hike, you should allow a total of around three and a half hours of pure walking time. The excursion starts at the Col Raiser cable car in S. Cristina, which takes families up to the Mastlé pasture in no time. The Odles Hut, located directly behind the mountain station, is one of the hike's first highlights with its animals and a beautiful playground. From here, the real hiking begins, descending slightly via the Fermeda Hut through flowering meadows towards the Lech Sant Hut.

The Lech Lake on the Mastlé is steeped in legend and offers brave hikers cool refreshment in summer. Not far from here is the hut, where you can marvel at the animals, buy the farm's home-grown produce and enjoy good food.

Hike to the Rasciesa Hut

About two and a half hours should be planned for the four-kilometre hike to Rasciesa. The tour starts with a ride on the cable car that leads from Ortisei to the mountain station at an altitude of 2100 metres. The view of the Sassolungo and the surrounding mountains is simply breathtaking even here. Trail No. 35 begins at the mountain station and, after a short climb, continues relatively flat to the Rasciesa Hut. The hike leads through the forest and across meadows and offers fantastic views again and again. Once you arrive at the mountain pasture, the children can play in peace and quiet. There is a wide selection of delicious food for young and old at the Rasciesa Hut. The easy hike can be extended to suit your fitness level or mood.

Hike to the Brogles Hut

With a duration of five hours and a 7.5-kilometre route, the hike to the Brogles Hut is one of the longer family hikes in Val Gardena. Nevertheless, the trail is a real treat for children and adults alike.

The starting point of the hike is the cable car in Ortisei, which takes hikers up to Rasciesa. Slightly above the tree line, the panoramic trail to the Brogles Hut begins, leading across the alpine pasture of Inner-Rasciesa. Across meadows and through the forest, you pass animals through a sea of flowers until you finally arrive at the Broglesjoch, from where a short, steep descent leads to the Brogles Hut. Here, hikers can expect delicious food in addition to a huge playground. If you want to experience a special adventure with your children, you can even spend the night in the hut and plan the way back via the Furnes pasture for the next day.

A family hike where the children urge you to keep going? This surprise awaits parents on the hike to the Juac Hut, which can very well be extended to the Regensburger Hut. The approximately eight-kilometre route is pleasant to walk and can easily be completed in three hours.

The trail starts at the car park above Selva before leading through the forest along the marked trail No. 3. Wood-carved animals, a pretty pond and interesting information boards offer plenty of variety along the way. Faster than expected, you and your children will quickly reach the Juac Hut, which is located under the mighty Stevia walls and offers a wonderful view. There is also a football field, a huge sundial, delicious food and plenty of space to run around. Once here, it is worth extending the hike to the Regensburger Hut.
