A favourite viewpoint

Unlike the other peaks in the Sassolungo Group, Col Rodella is not a purely rocky summit. You can "climb" the summit of Col Rodella from the Passo Sella or reach the Des Alpes Hut just below the highest point by chairlift or directly from Val di Fassa by cable car (from Campitello di Fassa).

There is a via ferrata on the southwest side of Col Rodella, which is also suitable for beginners. From the summit, you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Dolomites, such as the Sella Towers, the Sassolungo Group, Sass Pordoi and the Marmolada. You can even make out the striking Odle peaks in the distance.

Campitello - Col Rodella ski area

You can easily reach the Col Rodella ski area from Val Gardena by cable car and chairlift or from Val di Fassa by cable car from Campitello. To do this, you need the ski pass for Val Gardena or the Dolomiti Superski ski pass if you want to leave the Val Gardena ski area. Enjoy winter sports fun in a ski area equipped with modern lifts and an artificial snow system that promises the best conditions on the slopes all season long.

From Col Rodella, you can access the famous Sellaronda ski circuit. As the ski area is part of the Dolomiti Superski ski network, you have access to the entire Dolomites as a ski region and a gigantic network of slopes.

Paragliding at Col Rodella

Col Rodella is one of the best-known take-off sites for paragliders in the Dolomites. Due to the particular thermals, the area is not suitable for beginners, but it offers the best conditions for a tandem flight with an experienced instructor.

You can reach the launch sites within a few minutes from the mountain station or on foot via the Passo Sella. Look forward to a natural paradise and impressive rock formations that look incomparably beautiful from a bird's eye view.

Climbing at Col Rodella

There is a small climbing garden on Col Rodella, which may not be one of the most popular on the scene, but perhaps that's precisely why it offers so much variety. The via ferrata of the same name is also suitable for beginners, who will fall in love with the Dolomites here. Near Col Rodella is also the "Citta dei Sassi" climbing area, where sport climbing and bouldering are possible. The via ferrata at the Sassolungo Forcella and the famous Oskar-Schuster via ferrata are also easily accessible from here.
